[NEW] CUP Terrains Pack - v1.0 / 2015-12-25
The wait is finally over!!!
The Community Upgrade Project brings you CUP Terrains, the successor of "A3MP" and "All in ArmA - Terrain Pack (AiA TP)".
It builds upon the work done by kju for AiA TP and brings all of BI's iconic terrains to ArmA 3
as well as all the amazing 3rd-party terrains created by the community.
CUP Terrains maintains full backwards compatibility to A3MP and AiA TP - no need to adjust any missions or maps.
In short

The Community Upgrade Project is the initiative to bring all the content of Arma 2
[+ OA and DLCs] from BI into Arma 3, upgraded to the Arma 3 feature set.
Its goal is to provide those assets to the community as a mod ready to use in the game,
and as an open-source repository for modders to build upon and learn from.

When the time is right. We don't set deatlines like "In 3 weeks we have to release X,Y,Z and in 5 weeks A,B,C...". We work on this in our free time, and if we don't have it, work get's delayed until we have time again.

Is the usage of CUP on monetized servers allowed?
A:
In short: no.
The long version: We don't believe in the idea of letting players pay for content (or the ability to access that content, e.g. by reserved slots) like it has become common in especially Free2Play games and - unfortunately - in more and more AAA games via micro transactions.
ArmA3 is a full priced AAA title and everyone who owns it should be able to access all its content (including all the mods) without further payment. If you want to use CUP while at the same time give players the opportunity to help with the server costs, you can do so via donations, but not via monetization. For the difference between donations and monetization, take a look at https://www.bistudio.com/monetization/faq

AiA è stato ufficialmente abbandonato nel Gennaio del 2015. Il Cup Terrain Pack dovrebbe andare a fixare alcuni errori che erano presenti in AiA, come ad esempio finestre indistruttibili, livelli dell'erba, laghetti del Chernarus, le ombre e relativa illuminazione, collisioni e il pathfinidng delle AI, ecc ecc.
Insomma dovrebbe essere sicuramente meglio di AiA...
AiA lavorava su dati binarizzati mentre CUP TP sui file sorgente, quindi dovrebbero avere la possibilità di sistemare un bel po di cose...
L'unico contro ad ora è che molte isole nuove necessitavano AiA per funzionare ed anche se chi ha fatto CUP TP dice che dovrebbero funzionare lo stesso, in realtà parrebbe di no, almeno non tutte... :scratch:
L'importante è che ci lavorino e non sia abbandonato come AiA. :pugno:
